- Prepare 250 gms beef
- Take 1 cup rice
- Take Ginger paste
- Take Garlic paste

Make the pilau masala: In a medium bowl, combine the cumin, paprika, cardamom, black pepper, and cloves. Great use of beef stew meat! Wonderful beef stew with coriander, coconut and tomatoes. This is a dish from East Africa, but has lots of Indian influence.

- Assemble all your ingredients
- Boil your beef till soft and tender then put aside
- Put oil on your pan, add onions, cook till golden brown
- Add pilau masala and continue stirring to mix thoroughly
- Add royco cube, garlic and ginger paste
- Add your beef and stir continuously
- Add water and let it boil before adding rice
- Add rice, let it cook until the level of water is the same as the lever of rice, simmer until the water dries up
- Serve
If any pilau is left over, store in the fridge for up to two days. Shape into small patties, and pan fry with a little oil and serve with ketchup or a relish of your choice. I use beef instead of chicken in my pilau but it can also be made plain with no meat at all. Add the Beef and then the pilau mix. Let the spices burn a bit and add salt.
