  2. Heat water in a deep pan on low medium flame. Add sugar and salt. When water starts to boil slowly add suji and stir it continuously until you get a thick dough. Keep the dough in room temperature and knead it by adding one spoon ghee to make it more soft.
  3. Make 10-12 balls out of the dough by rolling them with the help of your palms. Flatten each ball and place the stuffing in it. Close the flattened balls after putting the stuffing and carefully give them a rounded shape.
  4. Heat ghee and deep fry the stuffed balls until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper towel.
  5. Now ready is the suji manda to serve.

Manda is a traditional Odia sweet dish. This is a savory variation of the same. A manda is a steamed rice-flour dumpling stuffed with grated coconut or boiled moong dal, jaggery and green cardamom.
