In Australia, less expensive off-cut meat is widely available. In Japan, you can find less expensive off-cut Sashimi. I used to make this 'Zuké' Don using those off-cuts.

The ingredients needed to make Sashimi ‘Zuké Don':
  1. Get 100-150 g Fresh Fish Fillet *make sure it is fresh enough to be eaten uncooked
  2. Prepare *Note: You can slice it by yourself OR purchase Sashimi slices
  3. Make ready *Recommended fish are Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Kingfish, Snapper, Whiting, etc
  4. Get 1 serving Freshly Cooked Rice
  5. Get 1/2 sheet Toasted Nori *tear into small pieces
  6. Get Yakumi (condiments) of your choice
  7. Prepare *e.g. Shiso, Wasabi, Spring Onion, Toasted Sesame Seeds, etc
  8. Get <Marinade>
  9. Make ready 1 teaspoon Mirin
  10. Get 2-3 teaspoons Soy Sauce
  11. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon Wasabi
  12. Make ready 1 teaspoon Grated Ginger

Kaisen Don is a Rice Bowl which some different Sashimi are placed on Sushi Rice. Normally, it's served at Sushi restaurants and popular for lunch. Chirashi don, sashimi don, bara chirashi, kaisendon. There are a lot of seemingly similar dishes out there.

Instructions to make Sashimi ‘Zuké Don':
  1. Make the marinade first. Place Mirin, Soy Sauce, Wasabi and Grated Ginger in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Slice Fish Fillet into small pieces and add to the marinade. Rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Half fill a bowl with freshly cooked rice, cover with the Toasted Nori and place marinated fish pieces on top. Place some finely sliced Shiso or chopped Spring Onion, and/or other condiments of your choice and enjoy.

So what's the difference? "Don" or "Donburi" is very popular food especially at lunch time. It is easy, fast and inexpensive. A "Don" often consists of fish, meat and vegetables simmered together and served over rice. Stake SASHIMI/Uniswap LP tokens to eat your yummy SASHIMI! Akami in Yuzu Kosho Zuke and Negitoro (green onions with medium fatty tuna) on Sushi Rice.
